Terms and privacy

Last updated 12 October 2026. Written to be read, not skimmed; it is short.

1. What FamGroove is

FamGroove is a family board: a hosted web page that shows your family's calendar, lists and reminders, managed by chatting with an AI assistant, such as Claude, through a connector you add to your own assistant account. The connector uses the open MCP standard, so other assistants that support it can connect as well; we test with Claude. It is an early product offered by a small team, free of charge while we build it, by invitation.

2. One account per family

An account belongs to a family and is tied to one email address. Anyone who can read that email can sign in, and anyone who can see the board can read what is on it, including children in the home. You decide what goes on the board and who can see the screens it is shown on. You are responsible for the family email address and for the Claude account you connect.

3. Your data is yours

Everything you put on the board stays yours. We use it only to run the service for you. We do not sell it, share it with advertisers, or use it to train anything. You can ask Claude to read it back in full at any time, export calendars as standard .ics files, and ask us to delete the account by emailing hello@famgroove.com.

4. No warranty, and we are not responsible for your data

FamGroove is provided as is, without any warranty. It is early software and it will have bugs. We are not responsible for loss, corruption or exposure of your data, for the board being wrong or unavailable, or for anything you or your family do based on what it shows. Do not rely on it as your only record of anything that matters, such as passport or insurance dates: keep your own copies. We may change or stop the service at any time; if we stop it, we will try to give notice and a way to take your data with you.

5. Your assistant and third parties

Your conversations with your assistant happen in your own account with its provider, for example Anthropic for Claude or OpenAI for ChatGPT, under their terms, not ours; we never see them. When you connect FamGroove, the assistant reads and writes your board data through our connector on your behalf, and what it does with that data in the conversation is governed by its provider's terms. We host on Cloudflare and send email through Resend, so your data passes through their systems under their terms as well. Calendar feeds you subscribe to are fetched from the addresses you give us.

6. What we store and how

We keep the family name, email address, timezone, the members you add (names, roles, colours, birthdays if you give them), everything you put in collections, your board layouts, calendar feed addresses and the events read from them, and the connector authorisations you grant. We keep a single sign-in cookie on each device you sign in on, with no advertising or tracking cookies. Sign-in codes expire within minutes. To slow down abuse we keep short-lived records of sign-in attempts that include the connection's IP address. We keep all of it for as long as the family account exists, and delete it when you ask us to close the account or when we close an account that has been unused for a year, after emailing the family address first. Sign-in codes are deleted when used or after ten minutes; sign-in attempt records are deleted within a day. Deleting a family removes all of this.

7. Fair use

Use FamGroove for your own family. Do not use it to store other people's data without their knowledge, to send unsolicited email, to attack the service or other users, or for anything unlawful. We may suspend an account that does, and we may limit usage to keep the service healthy for everyone.

8. Changes

We may update these terms as the service grows. The date at the top tells you when. Continuing to use FamGroove after a change means you accept the new terms; if you do not, ask us to delete the account.
